Never fail to impress me!

I've been busy. Shooting whenever I got a chance. During my son birthday, I got this one. Nothing superb but I really like it.

The bounced flash (I just bought it a few weeks before), was making the face a bit shadowed, but I think it is a good photo (to my personal standard).

My cat....

For a budget like this D40X and a second hand Tamron lense.....I think I am pretty satisfied. But this is really personal. You may not agree with me.... but.... I am smiling from ears to ears....

My lucky day!

I shoot when I can. Some time I get good photo. Sometime just enough to satisfy my itchy little finger.

Price war!

I think we got lucky. All brands are offering reduced price these days.

If not because of the financial problem, I could have bought myself the 5100 already......

Sample image with the Tamron

I manage to shoot some photos last week. I am not very impressed with the result. This multi-purpose lenses is just to soft.

Focusing is slow and often failed to focus properly. Forget shooting action photos. For still photos, I say... still managable.

A few sample for your reference.

Looks nice at this size.

A little under expose but as you can see, just so and so...

An over cast day, so no blue sky and nice cloud but the colour turn out quite nice!
Well, at half the usual price, I think it is pretty okay!

At last... an 18-200 Tamron

I have been without a lens for so many month. No shooting with the D40X. But I mange to buy a used Tamron yesterday.

The lens is in pretty good condition. But I have not try shooting with it yet. From a few trial shot I made indoors, I say it is pretty good. well, at least it worth the price I bought it for, only RM700.

I am thinking of shooting some photos tomorrow or Tuesday. We'll see how's the lens performs!

No.......

It is true. The D40X is having a problem with it's white balance. My Hari Raya pictures were terrible. Not many will bother (because they were sharp and colorful) but to those whom understood photography, will.

But that is only on white balance. Small matter to me. But I do get a little crazy shooting here and there.

It may be an old camera, but shooting with it is a very nice experiences. One that I found very interesting is the menus. Settings can easily be changed. Since it is easy, you often play around with it, try a few different setting or even try the unusual. Out of a few hundred shots, you will get a few very nice one.

This is not a master piece, but I enjoy taking it, and I enjoy watching it time after time!
This photo was taken during the night at the park while waiting for my son to finish copying some of his school activity materials. And it was shot using ISO1600.

ps/
  • I am still using a lens loaned from a friend
  • I'll try to get once next month, but..... arghhhhhh.... insufficient budget.....
